Back in September we launched a nationwide competition to find a new face of our brand. Due to the sheer amount of entrants, we chose three over all winners.
Remmi Williams, Khristie Lawton and Feyi Luther.
We caught up with Khristie and here’s what she had to say…
I’ve always maintained a strong image of myself, like nothing in the world could hurt me. When in reality behind closed doors, I’m an extremely vulnerable soul and up until now I’ve never wanted to admit it. I hide my insecurities through my bubbly personality, I’m always the first to make light of any situation and crack a joke.
I love to make other people happy, and I’ll go out of my way to give to others.
All my life I’ve struggled with my weight and along with that, I’ve struggled with everyone’s opinions about the way I look. The comments I’ve received over the years have shaped my life and the respect I have for my self. When I was diagnosed with Lipoedema and Lymphedema I struggled to come to terms with the fact I would never lose weight to the extent I wanted to. I had tried so hard over the years and now I knew I would have a lifetime full of abuse and non acceptance, I couldn’t cope. I hid for over a year, away from friends, family and my life.
I wanted to become the Face Of Yours to inspire women and young girls to be confident in their own skin, but the only way I could do this was by being confident in my own.
My journey with Yours Clothing has given me the confidence I needed, so what I can’t lose weight? In my eyes if you’re beautiful within, then it shines on the outside.
I never want any women or young lady to feel the way I have, there’s so much more to life than worrying every day about your image.
Experience the world, enjoy life and appreciate everything that you have.
I will be forever grateful to everyone who made this happen, I can’t believe that out of all those thousands of beautiful women, I was chosen. But I believe it is for a reason, and that is to inspire and engage with women who struggle like I have, if I can change one persons mindset then I’m a real winner.
